Website Maintenance

In addition to web design I also provide website maintenance services. I currently maintain dozens of sites in addition to those I have produced.

In most cases I take on new work because either the original designer is no longer available, or a customer requires a more cost effective or customer-focused service. Maintenance costs need not be expensive. A lot can be achieved in a few hours, especially if you can prepare and collate your changes clearly and accurately.

I prefer to charge per session rather than enter into maintenance contracts with regular payments. Too often customers in this type of arrangement feel they are paying for work that is not needed. I believe you should never feel obligated to stay with JeliNet.

I am able to maintain most sites that employ HTML, Dynamic HTML and Flash content. Normally I require access to the server where the site is hosted, or a copy of the most up to date site can be supplied for me to create a local version. Either I can upload changed files or I can send them to you, or a third party to upload.

A couple of important points to note:

• Flash files can only be edited if the source FLA files are available
• You will need access the the server where your site is hosted, or be able to arrange this
• You must have authority or permission to access and edit the website in question
• At this stage I regret I am unable to offer maintenance services for database-driven websites

Database-driven websites are typically built using technologies such as; ASP, ASPNet, ColdFusion or PHP. If you are not sure which technology is behind your site I can usually figure it out from a quick look online. If I can't do it, I am able to recommend colleagues who may be able to help with your requirements.
