HTML Email
HTML Email is a powerful marketing tool to deliver your message, promotions, offers or news directly to a targeted audience who have opted-in to receive mail.
HTML Emails are simple one-page websites designed to deliver focused information via a mass e-mailout.
I have found more confusion and mystery surrounding this area of the internet than all the others combined! The key to the successful delivery of HTML Email is to keep the technology simple. It is important to be aware that many scripts and code used in a typical webpage will be blocked by an email program. Flash, animated images, sound, Shockware content, database derived content and javascript are all examples of technologies that should not be used in HTM Emails.

There are many more ways to read an email than there are to view a web page. Email programs (such as Outlook Express), or online email web programs (such as Hotmail) are simplified web browsers. It is virtually impossible to guarantee that an HTML Email will look exactly the same for all recipients. I use our experience to ensure the best possible results can be achieved for as many recipients as possible by keeping the code simple.
HTML Invites
HTML Invites are an ideal way to advertise your events such as open days or appearances at trade fairs. From our perspective they are designed and built the same as other HTML Emails.
How do I send HTML Emails?
There are two main ways to do this. For most people Outlook Express or Outlook is suitable if the target mail list is relatively small - i.e. less than 300. For much larger mail lists you might consider a specialist company that manages email databases and provides the mail server for you. JeliNet does not provide the mailing services, however I am able to design bespoke HTML Emails based on most third-party specifications.
For small businesses the common solution is to build up a local list of emails from various sources such as a mail list sign up page on your website and enter them into a group in your email program. The actual HTML part can be mailed out in a couple of ways neither of which are too complicated. Each mail that is sent out should include an option for the recipient to request removal of their address from your list.
Isn't this just 'Junk Mail'?
Yes and no. If the recipient wants to hear from you then the answer is 'no'. If you keep sending email to people with no interest in your products then probably 'yes'. The trick is to keep your mail-outs targeted, regular, but not too frequent, and don't keep repeating your message. Because of the amount of spam on the net some email carriers such as AOL are considering charging for all emails sent. The future is not clear but for now HTML Emails remain a powerful marketing too.
